{ Love your Home }

Today I am starting a new post series called "Love your home" this Mondays edition is focused on at home work spaces meant to inspire those that do what they love in the space that they love.

Recently we moved my work space from our office to a different room in our condo, although it is beginning to feel a little more like my work space each day, I still feel that it needs a little je ne sais quoi. So I have been searching the internet for sources of inspiration for my little work nook. Here are some tips and places to look for ideas to make your work space inspiring.

First is the Etsy blog that has a great section dedicated to Open Studio Tours which can provide a great sense of inspiration for making a work nook of your own. Second, image search's on google for "work studio spaces" or "home studios" can also provide you with a bunch of visual inspiration or eye candy to incorporate in your space. Or lastly, frequently visiting sites that are dedicated to decor often proves to be a wonderful source of inspiration, two of my favourites are Decor8 and DesignSponge. Hopefully these tips on finding inspiring work studios will help you make a space that is your own and promotes creativity, I know it has for me.

On My Bookshelf

Although I am incredibly busy right now caring for a little someone, I still have the dream of running my own business in the back of my mind. Le sigh, how lovely it would be designing for my business and caring for my little one, oh the dream. To help myself get back into a creative mindset and into the swing of things, because lets be honest right now my mind tends to be centred around bottles, naps and diapers I started reading Craft Inc. Turn Your Creative Hobby into a Business, which so far has been fantastic. I especially enjoy the interviews with successful business owners so very inspiring! I also hope to pick up Handmade Weddings written by the lovely ladies from Hello Lucky. Not only is the styling gorgeous but I also think that it will be a great sense of inspiration for my little stationery and wedding invitation business.

Happy 2011!

Happy 2011 everyone!

I have been missing in action for quite some time, but I have been busy working on some exciting things lately, which I am almost ready to share with you (keeping my fingers crossed). 2010 was a great year, and I am sure that 2011 will be just as great if not better! I hope that you all had a wonderful Holiday and are ready to get back into the swing of things.

Today I am sharing the business cards I recently designed for myself. Being a lover of all things paper I couldn't resist having my business cards letter pressed with edge painting in a lovely blue hue. My cards were letter pressed by a great company based in the USA Dingbat Press. It was a pleasure working with them, and I loved how my business cards turned out!

Thanks again!

{ Inspiration Journal }

Clipboard collages, such a great idea for collecting inspiration

Usually on the weekend I try not to write any blog posts since I have time during the week to do it, but today I wanted to share a lovely little journal I came across. As a designer, and all around creative person I too find that a little inspiration can go a long way and what better way to document your inspirations then a journal. There are so many different ways that a journal can be created, here are a couple that will hopefully inspire you to start a journal yourself. I know that I am completely inspired to take my trusty sketch book to the next level!

Enjoy your weekend!
