{ Whimsical wedding invites }

A while back, a very lovely and wonderful couple commissioned me to create their wedding invitations.  An invitation often sets the scene and feeling of a wedding and this Toronto couple wanted their suite to be hand painted and hand lettered, capturing their love, the love for their beloved dog and the city they call home! Their suite included a double sided invitation, a mad lib RSVP and a Poster inspired guest book.

I haven't had a chance to take styled photos yet (its on my list of things to do) but I couldn't wait to share this suite with you.

I think I fell in love with Mason jars before they were popular, like back in the 90's when I was crafting gifts for my mom, with objects found around our houese. But years later these little beauties are used from wedding center pieces, to home decor, to a lovely center piece for a Sunday dinner; the mason jar has become every design savvy ladies best friend, and there is no wonder why. They are simple, beautiful, they come in a variety of sizes and are easy peasey to find (take a peek in your pantry) what more could you ask for? Also there are endless possibilities for these charming jars.

After finding all of these beauties I can feel another project coming on!

{ Sylvia + Max }

Here is a little invitation that I designed for a delightful, and fun loving couple. Their wedding suite included an invitation and a double sided response postcard. The couple was greatly inspired by mid century illustration and wanted their love for this art era to be communicated in their invitation . It was so much fun working on this invitation set!

{ Baby Shower Invites }

Recently I had the very exciting task of designing my own baby shower invites! It was great fun perusing the internet for a little baby inspiration. In the end my husband and I decided to go with a design that was inspired by my love for nesting dolls and our growing family. The theme of my baby shower is Autumn (not your typical baby shower theme, but one of my favourite seasons) so a punchy purple and orange palette was used.
I also lined the envelopes in both a petite floral paper and a more modern damask paper. With each invitation I included a manila tag that had registry information on one side and a cute poem asking family and friends to contribute to Baby's library instead of buying a card on the other. I finished of the tags with a little bakers twine (this stuff is great)

I love the final outcome, and I can't wait to share these special invites with my family and friends.

Enjoy

{ Some New Designs }

It has been a few weeks since my last post and I finally have a few spare minutes to sit down, say hello and share some recent designs.

Amy + Neil Wedding Invitations

This was a wonderful couple that I loved working with and I had a great time designing their wedding suite. Amy had such a lovely, and fun personality that was reflected in her invitations and colour scheme. The couple also had a personal story about a donkey, and wanted to include it on their wedding stationery, to be a bit more playful! Loved it!

{ A little bit of Autumn }

Just a quick little post to share an invitation that was born during a recent trip to Starbucks. Although summer is just beginning in Toronto, I am already beginning to think about the upcoming fall season and possible designs. Hope you enjoy!

{ Happy Weekend }

{ Kelly + Ben }

Today I am posting a wedding invitation suite that I designed for a good friend of mine and her fiancée. The main inspiration for the wedding suite design was their love for nature. The main invitation was printed on seeded paper, and I incorporated a graphic rendering of a birch tree. The birch tree holds a special meaning for the bride and groom as it is indigenous to the area where they live and where the wedding will be held. The wedding suite also included a whimsical map.

{ Boarding Pass Invitations }

I am happy to be posting a job that I recently completed for a lovely couple that wanted their invitations to resemble a boarding pass. The wedding is in June so the bride wanted a bright and cheerful green + purple colour palette. Since the bride is from Canada and the groom is from France they wanted this theme to be reflected throughout the invitation suite.

{ A little Love }

A little love. I thought this super cute modern take on vintage china plates was a perfect introduction to the long over due continuation of my Navy + Pink invitation set.
I was greatly inspired by the splendour of vintage floral motifs, with a slightly modern edge.

{Save the Date }

Inspiration: { Pink & Navy }

I loved the idea of having a pink and navy wedding so much that I decided to create a Save the Date using this very palette. I wanted to create a design that was a little more whimsical and modern with a lovely punch of colour.

There will be more to come using this palette, until then Enjoy!

{ Lindsay & Dave }

I am very excited about finally being able to post a photo of the wedding invitations for this fantastic couple. The inspiration for their whimsical invitations was the location of their reception, and an all weekend outdoor event by the lake. Within the main invitation I included the couple's dog, an owl for Lindsay and the cute white church where the wedding ceremony is taking place. In addition, Lindsay's grandparents, and parents were also married in the same church, which made it a very special detail!

{ Wedding Invitation Suite }

This is just a sneak peak, I will be posting more images of this suite soon!

{ Black and White }

Spring is all about colour, we can not wait to free ourselves of the heavy wool sweaters and dark hues and jump into something flowing and bright, but I thought that it would be fun to create an invitation suite that was classic; black and white. That could serve as a back drop for any colour scheme. Often black and white is overlooked by brides, myself included.
