{ Do what you love }

I recently came across a post entitled "Do what you love, 2014" an inspirational post about doing what you love by not making excuses, focusing, learning new skills, that kind of thing and I've decided.  I am going to do it.   For many years I owned a business, doing small jobs here and there, stopping and starting, having a family, and stopping and starting again.

So I am going to apply to be a part of a hand made show this December 2014, I am super pumped and scared all at the same time.  But its something I think I need to do.  There are many other things I would love to do like write and illustrate a children's book but I feel this is a starting point, to get my feet wet and see where it takes me.

{ Foxing Around }

Between being a mom and a wife, I found a bit of time to create some new artwork! And I hope to find a bit more time to continue what I love doing.  This is an illustration that I completed first digitally but then wanted to try a bit of watercolour and gouache.  I am very happy with the results and hope to do more like this soon.  If you love this little fox it is now available in my Etsy shop!

{ Whimsical wedding invites }

A while back, a very lovely and wonderful couple commissioned me to create their wedding invitations.  An invitation often sets the scene and feeling of a wedding and this Toronto couple wanted their suite to be hand painted and hand lettered, capturing their love, the love for their beloved dog and the city they call home! Their suite included a double sided invitation, a mad lib RSVP and a Poster inspired guest book.

I haven't had a chance to take styled photos yet (its on my list of things to do) but I couldn't wait to share this suite with you.

{ M is for Mermaid..... }

Happy Thursday everyone, the weather here is a little bit dreary but I am going to be positive and enjoy this crisp fall day. I am working on a new series of posters and I am happy to share the first one with you today! As you may know I've been working on my watercolour and hand lettering skills and I am very pleased with the results so far. I am still working digitally but find working with a new medium a breath of fresh air, just what the doctor ordered. M is for mermaid will be available on my Etsy site soon!
