{ DIY Pumpkin candle holders }

I am still in the Halloween spirit even though stores are already beginning to put out their Christmas decorations (it is a bit early) and I've already started working on my 2010 Christmas card collection. I came across this really great DIY pumpkin candle holder tutorial and wanted to share it with you. It is such a cute idea, I will keep this in mind for next year!
Check out Twig & Thistle for the tutorial and the entire post.

{ Inspiration Journal }

Clipboard collages, such a great idea for collecting inspiration

Loretta Anderson of Loretta Jansdotter designs

Usually on the weekend I try not to write any blog posts since I have time during the week to do it, but today I wanted to share a lovely little journal I came across. As a designer, and all around creative person I too find that a little inspiration can go a long way and what better way to document your inspirations then a journal. There are so many different ways that a journal can be created, here are a couple that will hopefully inspire you to start a journal yourself. I know that I am completely inspired to take my trusty sketch book to the next level!

Enjoy your weekend!

{ Finnish Design }

Today I thought it would be fun to share the work of a Finnish designer, being half Finnish myself I have a deep love for all things Finn! I especially love the work of Sanna Annukka, her graphic style is amazing. She designed this print to decorate a tram in Helsinki to help celebrate the 60th anniversary of the famous Finnish candy Marianne (Fazer). The red and white stripe pattern is iconic to the brand, so Sanna incorporated her design with the classic stripe design, the outcome was so sweet, don't you think?

Also in case you've never experienced Marianne candies before, they are very tasty, a mix of cool peppermint and chocolate sweetness!

{ Happy Weekend }

A lot of my posts recently have been about fashion, hats + coats to enjoy this fall season, but today as a little hooray for the weekend I am going to leave you with an illustration I've been working on. I hope you enjoy! This is just the start, I plan to create more of these cute little illustrations which are so much fun to do, and are perfect for a baby's nursery or child's room.

{ Hello Fall }

Yesterday, I left the comforts of the indoors and decided to take a much needed walk around our neighbourhood. As I walked along the sidewalks fallen leaves were crunching beneath my shoes and the cool brisk air had me dreaming of warm lattes, thick matte tights, leather boots and of course a great coat!

Anthropologie has to be one of my favourite stores, even though I rarely indulge in a purchase
just walking around the store is a visual delight in itself. The displays are creative and the clothes are charming. Here is a round up of some lovely coats from their 201o fall/winter collection that are sure to keep you warm and stylish as the days grow colder.

{ Happy Weekend }

Do I have a treat for you today, I was recently perusing one of my favourite wedding websites
100 Layer Cake and came across a lovely wedding post for a couple in Copenhagen. The wedding was stunning, but what really stood out was the giant gorgeous paper flowers that the bride and mother of the bride made together! I especially like how only one big flower was centred on each table, so sweet. Feeling inspired I searched the web to find a tutorial on how to make these beauties.

Although these flowers are a wonderful edition to a wedding celebration they can be used for other celebrations as well, such as a birthday party or even a baby shower. I am feeling crafty, so this weekend I am planning on making some of these flowers for my up and coming baby shower, I think they will make a lovely and unique addition to my shower that I am sure will delight my guests!

I hope to post some photos of my project soon!

{ Label Love Collection }

For my Autumn theme baby shower I decided to give homemade applesauce as my thank you gift to all of my family and friends, and nothing completes a jar of homemade goodness like a sweet label. So I've put together a little collection of vintage labels (I love, love, love vintage labels) for a little bit of inspiration. There is something just so lovely about vintage labels, don't you think?
