{ Some Weekend Love }

Although the weekend is coming to a close and the week lies ahead of us, I wanted to post a little weekend love and something a bit cheery to help start the work week off on a good note. I am working on a new invitation suite, and wanted to post the Save the Date. I am excited about sharing this delightful tid bit. I hope to have more to post soon. Until then.

{ Happy Friday }

I am starting a new weekly series starting today, and every Friday where I will share new work, kind of a last bit of inspiration Hoorah before the week comes to an end and we each embark on the much anticipated weekend. Unfortunately, I am still not decided on what I will be calling this new weekly series, but I do know that I want to take some time to think about the name. I will post new invitations, some from real weddings and some fictional. I also hope to add some new illustrations, as although I am not proud to say this, but my illustration work has been taking a back seat to other things these days and I feel that illustration plays an important role in my invitation design.

To get the ball rolling I am posting a little something special that I have been working on lately, this is a special piece for me because it was the first time in many years that I've created an illustration using something other then a computer. It was great trying a new technique. I quite enjoyed it, I hope to add more to this collection.

{ Boarding Pass Invitations }

I am happy to be posting a job that I recently completed for a lovely couple that wanted their invitations to resemble a boarding pass. The wedding is in June so the bride wanted a bright and cheerful green + purple colour palette. Since the bride is from Canada and the groom is from France they wanted this theme to be reflected throughout the invitation suite.

{ A little Love }

A little love. I thought this super cute modern take on vintage china plates was a perfect introduction to the long over due continuation of my Navy + Pink invitation set.
I was greatly inspired by the splendour of vintage floral motifs, with a slightly modern edge.

{ Share + Plant + Water + Enjoy }

Yes Please! As spring approaches it is hard not to be thinking about the flowers that will soon be gracing our gardens and yes your wedding. A trend that I am quite smitten with right now is seeded paper. Seeded paper (Botanical Paperworks) is completely biodegradable, and is embedded with wildflower seeds providing your guests with an environmentally friendly alternative to the traditional wedding invitations and of course a beautiful patch of lovely wildflowers to enjoy. What a wonderful way to spread your love!

Flowers can be introduced many ways into your wedding, invitations, and favours. Martha Stewart had some wonderful DIY ideas.
