I am a sucker for a great photo, so much in fact I spend time perusing photographers websites oooing and ahhing over the magic they captured, and the creativity that goes with it. Yes, I said creativity, its just not enough to take a lovely photo anymore, much, much more goes into a fabulous photo session these days.

Photo sessions are filled with props, bells, whistles and a lovely location. Location, location, location!

Today on this beautiful Monday morning I am sharing two very talented ladies with you, who work right here in Toronto Celine Kim and Scarlett O'Neil, not only are their pictures stunning the amount of thought and creativity that goes into their sessions is inspirational (Hats off to you ladies)! It definitely makes me want to get a photo shoot of our little family sometime soon!

Do you remember when I chatted about how lovely mason jars are? and how they have so many uses? well today I found something a little something special via lastejeymaneje. These Crochet Jar Covers are just another way you can decorate using mason jars, a bit of yarn and a whole lot of style! I am already wondering how I can incorporate some of these into my own decor, I especially like the idea of using these darling jars as knitting needle holders.

I am a huge fan of leg warmers during the fall and winter season and was over the moon when I discovered that you can get or make leg warmers for your wee one as well! Imagine the possibilities. Not only are they cute to boot but they keep your little one warm while changing diapers, make diaper changes easier, provide comfort during potty training and keep their precious knees protected when scooting about on hard floors when crawling. I can not wait to pick some of these up or to make a few for our babe.

While looking into cute knee high socks to use for my handmade baby leg warmers, and friend of mine (another mommy) suggested knitting some. Hmmmm I may just do that, thanks Elaine!

I know I am full of promises but I really am going to post the finished product, promise cross my heart.

{ The Great Pumpkin Patch }

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend, Toronto was especially beautiful on Sunday, with clear blue skies and sun it was the perfect fall afternoon. We took a little family trip to the pumpkin patch, it was the beans first experience with pumpkins. We picked up a small pumpkin just to add a little fall to our place and a bag of apples as I am planning to make some more applesauce this year (loved it last year, I think I have a new tradition). I can't believe a year has passed since last Halloween already. Last year around this time we were preparing for my baby shower, now our baby is getting ready for her first Halloween!

With the first birthday of our baby girl fast approaching I've started to think about decor for the big day, even though it isn't until January I think that it is never too soon to start planning something so special. I found these beautiful decorative paper lanterns from Martha Stewart, oh Martha you always share such lovely things. These lanterns are fabulous as party decor for a birthday or wedding and as a way to dress up a room, with or without a light.

{Little Miss}

Introducing little miss Kaisa, she is definitely the boss in our house and of our hearts, our greatest creation yet and already quite the inspiration!

It has been a very busy month and I've had very little time to commit to my blog and design work. However, as we all get settled I hope to update my blog on a more regular basis. In honour of our snugglers 1 month birthday tomorrow I am sharing her cuteness with you today.

It is snowing here in Toronto and our house is finally decorated, so it is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. Speaking of Christmas, the holidays are fast approaching, and I have been searching the internet for great handmade gifts. Martha Stewart recently had a craft show (oh how I wish I lived in, or near New York sometimes) that had some very lovely goodies for sale which would make such thoughtful gifts for family and friends. Speaking of goodies, as you may all know by now, I LOVE Nesting dolls so when I saw these little lovelies from handle and spout (one of the vendors at the Martha Stewart craft show) I instantly fell in love with them and had to share my find with you. Aren't they sweet?

After going to the one of a kind show in Toronto, I found a lot of great handmade items that would make fantastic gifts to give to your loved ones. As an added bonus all of the handmade goodies were created by talented Canadian Crafters!

{ Felt }

Flipping through my copy of Canadian House and Home (October issue) I came across a great little article about felt. Felt has really been making a come back these days (I remember crafting with it when I was a wee little one). But recently I've found some fantastic tutorials online, showing how to make everything from felted pillows to felted bowls (which are a great idea for Christmas gifts).

I also found out that you can buy designer's felt, industrial felt and crafting felt, a great place to purchase some felt for your next project is the Felt store or Purl soho.

All of these projects look great, I can't wait to start working on them!

{ Hello Fall }

Yesterday, I left the comforts of the indoors and decided to take a much needed walk around our neighbourhood. As I walked along the sidewalks fallen leaves were crunching beneath my shoes and the cool brisk air had me dreaming of warm lattes, thick matte tights, leather boots and of course a great coat!

Anthropologie has to be one of my favourite stores, even though I rarely indulge in a purchase

just walking around the store is a visual delight in itself. The displays are creative and the clothes are charming. Here is a round up of some lovely coats from their 201o fall/winter collection that are sure to keep you warm and stylish as the days grow colder.

Today I wanted to share a website that I accidentally stumbled upon, and absolutely love! The flower arrangements are so inspiring and romantic, I am captivated every time I peruse her website. Its fun just to take a peak to see what this lovely floral designer has been up to recently. And what a lovely way to start the day, right? Everyone can use some lovely posies in their day.

The name of the site is s a i p u a (as I was perusing the site, a thought occurred to me,

s a i p u a sounds like a finnish word) being part Finnish, I have a special sense for these kinds of things (even though I can't speak much of the language). It is in fact Finnish and it means soap. What a clever name! those Finns are so talented. Sarah is based in Brooklyn, and I would definitely look her up if you are looking for gorgeous flower arrangements for all sorts of occasions or special events. She even makes soap.

A little love. I thought this super cute modern take on vintage china plates was a perfect introduction to the long over due continuation of my Navy + Pink invitation set.

I was greatly inspired by the splendour of vintage floral motifs, with a slightly modern edge.
